Select Demolition in Southwest Florida

Clean, careful interior demo that protects what stays and clears the way for your remodel, with debris hauled and disposed.

Every great remodel starts with a clean tear-out. Done carelessly, demolition damages the things you wanted to keep and leaves a mess that slows everything down. Done right, it sets up the entire project to go smoothly. Costa Construction & Remodeling performs select demolition across Cape Coral and Southwest Florida with the precision that the build phase depends on.

We are a veteran-owned, family-operated general contractor, and we treat demo as the first act of construction, not an afterthought. The word select matters here: we remove only what needs to go, protect everything that stays, and hand off a clean, square, ready-to-build space. That discipline saves time and money on every phase that follows.

Careful, surgical tear-out

Selective demolition is about restraint as much as muscle. Pulling out old cabinets without gouging the wall behind them, lifting flooring without damaging the subfloor you plan to reuse, removing a vanity and tile without cracking the tub that is staying, this is the kind of work that separates a thoughtful contractor from a wrecking crew. We plan the sequence, disconnect utilities safely, and take things apart in the right order so the rest of your home is never collateral damage.

Protecting what stays

Demo creates dust and chaos if it is not controlled, and that dust does not respect doorways. Before a single cabinet comes out we mask off adjacent rooms, cover and protect floors and finishes that are staying, and contain the work area as much as we reasonably can. Your living room should not need its own cleanup just because the kitchen is being gutted. Containing the mess is part of the job, not an extra.

  • Interior demo for kitchens, bathrooms and living spaces
  • Cabinet, countertop, fixture and flooring tear-out
  • Non-structural and, where appropriate, evaluated wall removal
  • Dust containment and protection for adjacent areas
  • Full debris load-out, haul-away and disposal

Cleared, hauled and ready to build

Demolition is not finished until the space is empty and clean. We load out the debris, haul it away, dispose of it properly, and sweep the area so the build phase can begin without delay. And because we are a full-service contractor, the same crew that tears it down is usually the one that builds it back, whether that is a new kitchen or bath, fresh flooring and tile, or new trim and carpentry. That continuity means nothing falls through the cracks between phases.

When a project involves removing a wall, we never guess. As a licensed contractor we evaluate whether it is load-bearing, handle permitting where required, and remove or reframe it safely. We provide select demolition for homeowners throughout Cape Coral, Fort Myers and the surrounding Lee County area.

FAQ

Demolition questions

What is select demolition?
Select demolition, sometimes called selective demo, means carefully removing only the parts of a space that need to go while protecting everything that stays. Instead of knocking everything down, we surgically tear out cabinets, flooring, fixtures or a wall so the next phase of your remodel can begin cleanly.
Do you protect the rest of my home during demo?
Yes, and this is where careful demo earns its keep. We mask off adjacent rooms, protect floors and finishes that are staying, and contain dust as much as possible. Protecting what stays is just as important as removing what goes.
Do you haul away and dispose of the debris?
We do. Demolition is not done until the debris is gone. We load out, haul away and properly dispose of everything we remove, and we leave the space swept and ready for the build phase.
Can you remove a wall to open up my space?
In many cases, yes. As a licensed general contractor we can evaluate whether a wall is load-bearing, handle the permitting where required, and remove or reframe it safely. We never take down a wall without confirming what it is holding up first.
Do you offer free estimates for demolition?
Yes. We assess the scope, talk through what stays and what goes, and provide a free, no-pressure written estimate. Call (239) 933-7499 or request an estimate online to get started.
